Julia Buizer-Madzhar

was born and raised in Saint Petersburg and began playing the piano at the age of four. She studied at the prestigious Music Lyceum of the Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatory. In 2003, she moved to the Netherlands to continue her studies at the Conservatory of Groningen under Paul Komen. In 2010, she graduated with distinction from the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague. Since then, Julia has established herself as a highly sought-after pianist, praised for her versatility and musicality. She performs with various ensembles.

Julia is a member of the BUIZER Trio and the voice-piano duo Julia & Julia. She has performed as a soloist with piano concertos by Rachmaninoff, Prokofiev, Shostakovich, Janáček, Glass, and Gershwin on renowned stages in the Netherlands, including the Anton Philipszaal in The Hague, the Great Hall of De Oosterpoort in Groningen, and the Concert Hall of Theaters Tilburg. Julia has also performed internationally, giving solo and chamber music concerts in France, Germany, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, and her hometown, Saint Petersburg. In the summer of 2009, she was a soloist during a tour of Sweden with the Haydn Youth String Orchestra, with whom she also recorded a CD.

Julia brings her musicality to her work as a répétiteur at the Westbroek-van Aken Vocal Studio, where she collaborates closely with the renowned soprano Eva-Maria Westbroek and tenor Frank van Aken. Working alongside such generous, inspiring artists creates a uniquely supportive and motivating environment—one where musical depth, vulnerability, and artistry are not only encouraged but shared. In this setting, Julia provides opera coaching, masterclasses, and concert accompaniment, and her exceptional ability to guide singers in dynamics and expressive interpretation is widely praised by colleagues and students alike.

In addition to her work as a répétiteur, Julia teaches at the Hellendaal Music Institute and CKC, she is part of the Casuquo ensemble, and she works as a pianist for Stage Entertainment’s production of Frozen. She also accompanies various choirs in The Hague and is regularly invited by prominent orchestras, including the Residentie Orkest, to assist with auditions and concerts.

At Studio Sophia, Julia offers piano lessons and coaches singers and instrumentalists in preparing for auditions, competitions, masterclasses, and concerts, where her accompaniment and artistic insight have proven invaluable.
